October’s Monthly Townhall Community Meeting
Sunday, October 13th from 3:00 to 5:00 is our regular monthly meeting at the Cumberland Community Center located at 11 Davenport Road. Mr. McSweeney, our attorney, will be sharing the legal perspective and members will be covering various topics as well. As always, come out and bring goodies to share. We will have t-shirts and signs for sale.
Is Virginia’s motto changing from Virginia is for Lovers to Virginia is for Landfills?
CCLA Members Demonstration – Governor Came to Town
Not sure if the Governor saw the sign or not, but we sure do hope so. It was a short notice, but supporters got together, made the signs, and early in the morning were out on Route 60 – close to the entry to the proposed mega landfill. Thank all who were there and those who traveled Route 60 and sounded your horns to let us know you support our cause.
Festival of the Grape
CCLA Members welcomed Festival Attendees while informing them about the proposed mega-dump, gaining signatures, selling signs and t-shirts.
Please note that until further notice all official CCLA Updates and Status Reports will come through our website www.LoveCentralVA.com
We will post on our website and then link the blog post to the Facebook page. This is to ensure consistent, factual, and relevant information from one source.
As always, thank you for your involvement, support, prayers, and donations towards our community effort to protect our air, water, safety, and way of life by working to stop the proposed mega-dump. Reminder to “Stay Focused on The Goal – to stop County Waste’s / Greenridge’s proposed multi-state mega-dump! CCLA, along with other groups, individual citizens, and professionals are working for that goal!
We look forward to seeing you this weekend!
